My journey with sewing truly began when my mum gifted me my first sewing machine. From a young age I've always had a love of sewing, I even altered my school skirt to better fit my body shape. This machine sparked a creative adventure, crafting unique items for my family.
During the pandemic I embraced a meaningful challenge of making scrubs for the NHS and creating masks for the wider community. This deeply enhanced my appreciation for the power of sewing to make a difference.
I am a proud mum of three very individual children. My passion for sewing has given me a special opportunity to connect with my youngest child, who has autism and has his own specific interests often hard to find in stores. Together, we transform his unique drawings and designs into Plush toys. He selects the materials, and it is my task to bring them to life.
While my career in finance is rewarding, and I genuinely enjoy diving into a good spreadsheet, the creative part of me thrives on making beautiful things. There's nothing quite like the joy of seeing a garment I have made worn beautifully or witnessing the impact of something I've crafted.
I am always looking for ways to grow my seamstress knowledge. My love for sewing led me to studying fashion introducing me to a wealth of wonderful skills. Now, alongside my personal sewing journey, I'm excited to pass on what I've learned through teaching sewing classes, helping others explore their creativity and develop their own unique style.
